Yesterday I worked & Sean had class & I have a family ridden with chicken pox... so! Sean's mom watched Sammy for a few hours while Sean studied for his test & took it. When I got off work we went & picked him up together & I checked on his little toothies cause the tissues been pretty white & blanched lately- & I felt a little sharp tooth poking out!! Yay!!! Sammy's first tooth!!! It seems like every other baby his age already had at least 2 teeth, so I was waiting for his to catch up.

Grandma Lindblom- Sammy LOVES the blanket you made him!! He just plays on it, or with it forever!! Last night he was pretty determined that he was going to rip one of the little butterfly buttons off, but eventually gave up after about 10 minutes when he realized it was pretty firmly fixed on there.

More Garden Growth!

Our Garden is becoming pretty amazing!!! Yay!

Montezuma

Apparently it was named incorrectly, because Montezuma wasn't the first to inhabit this area, but today we had a combined activity with our youth & went to Montezumas Castle & Montezumas Well near Camp Verde. Montezumas Castle National Monument costs $5 a person for anyone over 16 years old & all our youth happened to be under 16, but we had 8 adults. Montezumas well however, is free for all & I had a little more fun there!

For those who don't know- it is belived that the are was inhabited by the Sinagua Indians for a time, & then abondoned for unknown reasons. While they inhabited this area near Beaver Creek & the Verde River they built their homes many stories up in the cliffs around. Perhaps it was because the water at the time was a significant amount higher & it was the safest place to be while staying close to a water source.

The Aland's reading about the shallot area. The well water goes right under the surrounding rock of the well, & out the other side where the Sinagua people made an irrigation system that was super awesome!

Sean's head is aligned with more cliff dwellings that were across the well. Many stories up.

the magic of the internet! It was very peaceful right next to Beaver Creek, so we sat & ate our lunches there. I think the kids thought that it was race, cause every location we were at they would hike as fast as they could to the end & then while most the adults explored around they sat in the parking lot... oh well. They said they had fun, so hopefully they did. I thought Montezumas well was really worth it!! I wish we would have had more time to maybe go to Tuzigoot too. all in all.. I thought it was a sucess!

thermostat : 80 degrees!! I still refuse to let Sean turn the air on. All fans are on high! Oh well.. it's bound to happen sooner or later!

I was holding Sam, feeding him today when I suddenly became insanely jeleous of his beautiful skin tone as compared to my white pasty-ness.

Today we also picked our vey first squash!! yeah for squash!! I cut it up & fried it nicely in some butter to take away all sources of nutrition! j/k- ok, I'm not kidding... we really did!

so good! Eat it all the time!! Which, I'm pretty sure we'll be doing all summer.. no complaints here! I'm super excited!! The next one I pick I'm going to grind up nice & smooth for Sammy's little tummy. Yummy!!!

I took a walk with Sam today ( nice that I decided to on such a ridiculously warm day!) & we went a little over 2 miles, which honestly dosn't sound like much, but I swear it was further than that! It feels like twice the distance when its warm!! Go me though! I stuck to it!

Today Sean found some ripe treats for us! Excuse the blurriness-
We each took a bite out of each one. Pretty impressive huh, ? 3 WHOLE strawberries!!! It was at this point that we regretted not getting more bushes :( Oh well- I have to tell you they tasted amazing !!!!

I've recently started exercising again & its making me feel amazing!! I feel so much better each day!! Now if only Sean would eat this Easter candy faster so I don't have to walk by it every time I pass the kitchen!!!!

ok- I confess, I had 2 pieces of reeses eggs today :( It just made me have to run a few extra minutes. This is turning into a confession!

Already?

Sammy at 15 days old

Yesterday was Sammy's 6 month birthday! I can't believe it's been 1/2 a year already!!!! He's grown up so much!

Birth: 5lb 12 oz

Today : 18lb 7oz- CRAZY!

Birth: 19 3/4 in height

Today: 25 3/4 in height

I seriously can't believe how fast this past six months has flown by! & I can't believe it's taken me that long to get back into regular exercise. This past 2 weeks I've started back on the treadmill & I'm feeling so much better!! I'm almost back to what I weighed pre-Sam. I guess they weren't kidding when they said 9 months on, 9 months off!

This was the day before Easter when we picked up Sam from going shopping with his Grandma- he's so cute :)

Sam's still working on trying to crawl- he just makes scooting motions. He's really gotten the sitting thing down- minus a few tumbles. Yay Sam :)

PS Sean got a 96% on his last math test :) Go Sean!!!!

Easter :)

You must just assume that any holiday from this point on will have ridiculous amounts of pictures because I love to take them, & I love my baby.
Yesterday was great :) We woke up & the Easter Bunny brought Sam some baby food & juice- what a great Easter Bunny to cater to us!

The Easter Bunny, however, brought Sean & I some sweet, cavity producing, sugar filled, CANDY! yay! What would Easter be without these bad boys?

Once his basket was emptied, Sam played with his basket for a good 1/2 an hour. It's a good thing the Easter bunny didn't get him any toys.. apparently all he needs is a basket! Actually, Grandma Johnson bought him a great Elephant toy the day before (& the cute bunny ears)

Here is Sam's first encounter with peeps- don't worry! We didn't actually let him eat it.. we didn't want a sugar rush... plus.. no teeth! I guess its marshmallow.. anyways!!!

As previously mentioned.. I had one heck of a time finding a nice outfit for Sam to wear to church, & ended up buying one for a 12 month baby- but we just had to make due-

I swear his hands were actually out of his sleeves, just not apparently for any picture taken

This is Sam with his cutie friend Amalie. She was blessed the same day as Sam & her mom is in young womens with me. I said it l0oked like they were going to a dance.

This was an attempt at a family picture.. oh well.

We invited Sean's sister & husband over for Easter dinner- however due to the recent birth of her baby (Friday) they weren't able to attend- so we took it to them! Sam got to meet his new cousin David

I'm pretty sure David already has more hair than Sam!

What a great way to end the day! Ham & party potatoes!!!!! with rolls? It dosn't get any better folks!
