Have you ever had a pregnant day when you feel like you could eat the world, but there isn't much food in the house, & your tired from working & you come home to a poopy baby & the tv on too loud & your husband wanting you to tutor him in math & you feel like you could cry? & then you do? Yeah.. me neither.
Well... our Easter started out pretty fun on Friday, but that night Sam started with a little fever. Saturday he seemed like he was doing ok, until I went over to my sisters to play games & have fun. But Sammy was burning up again & started getting fussy, so we headed home. He's been wheezy & feverish since then... stinky! So this morning I took Sam to urgent care & it turns out he has croup. That seriously sounds like something that kids got in the 1800's, but I know I hear people talking about their kids having it. Anyways- Sam was a psycho at the Dr. office!! He didn't' want to sit still so he was freaking out. I'm surprised they could tell anything about him! Anyways- they prescribed some meds for him & hopefully he'll be the same old Sam soon! It seems like someone is always sick here!!! Oh yeah, Sean pretty much has the same thing. Yesterday wasn't the best Easter we've ever had to say the least!!!
This morning we headed over to the Ayala househould for an Easter egg hunt with all the Lindblom cousins. Good times :)

I'm actually surprised at how well Sam did. I walked next to him & held his basket & when he picked up the eggs I would have him place them in the basket & then tell him to look for more. If I left the basket with him, he would just play with the eggs he'd already found.

We are definitely liking our new bird Petey. We got her a nice cage to roam around in & when Sean cleaned it out first, Sam, of course, had to help. I think I could get used to this... :)
We all went outside to enjoy the nice weather today...
Last week Sean's Grandma, aunt & cousins were here visiting for spring break so we got to hang out with them a little bit :) We went for a picnic & little hike at the Superstitions one day & is was soooo beautiful!! It was so green & the weather was amazing with the perfect little breeze!!!

I haven't been blogging as much lately, why? I swear we've been so busy!!! I'm trying this week to slowly catch up on what we've been up to.
Sunday at church we realized that the reason Sam has been so fussy is because he is cutting all 4 of his canines at the same time... nice, huh?
His uppers have already peeked through, but the lowers are just bulbous tissue waiting to explode. He is pretty much the worst teether ever. Ok, maybe not THE worst, but definitely not a graceful teether for sure! he woke up at 3am & stayed up crying for about an hour last night. Well, he was awake til a little after 3:30 & then it took til around 4 for the ibuprofen to kick in. Thank GOODNESS for medicine!!

I'm trying to be better at letting him make a mess & just feed himself though. Which is good, cause he is getting to the point where he refuses to eat unless he is the one putting the food in his mouth. It's hard for me to let go, for some odd reason. He made a lovely mess with rice tonight.. & thats ok, right? I realized this last weekend when I was watching my friends little girl, who is 2 weeks younger than Sam, that I really needed to let him feed himself when I saw her eating a bowl of cereal by herself, & not really spilling it either. It was kind of like a slap in the face- wake up! He isn't a little baby anymore! Slowly, but surely, I will get it.No, I did not have a baby yet! Meet Petey...
We went to Petco the other day because I have a husband that should live on a farm & loves every animal known to mankind. He wanted to take Sam to look at birds. While we were there, a worker was talking to us & told us she, herself, had cockatiels at home that had a baby & we could just have it if we wanted. This was Sean's green light. A FREE bird? I came home 2 days later to Sean walking around with Petey on his shoulder. She (yes, Petey is a she) is actually very tame. She loves us all so far & is very nice. So there it is... a new addition to the Johnson zoo.

My DiGiorno party pack! For those of you unawares... I signed up on http://www.houseparty.com/ . What is that you may say? Basically, different brands that are introducing a new product let you sign up to host a party featuring their new product. So I signed up for a digiorno pary featuring their new pizza & breadstick combo pack. So... Next Saturday night I am inviting all my friends & family over to enjoy some digiorno.. on Digiorno! I got my party pack in the mail today complete with coupons for me to get the product for free! to share with you.. & coupons to give to my guests so they can try it later too! I will also be sporting my freaking cool new digiorno apron :) Pretty awesome, you may say! Since Sam was little, this is pretty much the only cartoon he watches- Little Einsteins. Don't get me wrong, I don't want a tv addicted child at all, but it's nice to have one thing that is a guarantee to keep his attention if I need to get anything done. He used to just watch the opening song & then play with it in the background, but now he will actually sit & watch a whole episode- an amazing feat for someone like Sam who can't even sit still until the sacrament is passed on Sunday. I actually really like that he loves this show. It features a piece of classical music, and a piece of art in every episode, so I can blame him watching it on culture.
The next best part is that Sean goes around singing the musical piece of the day as well... I knew I could sneak some decent music into these boys :)
ps- if you've never seen it, "I Can-not Be-lieve it!" is one of the characters favorite sayings on the show... makes me laugh every time :)
Here are a few reasons why it is difficult for me to tutor Sean while we're at home...
Luckily, when it comes down to crunch time before a test, we have amazing friends & family that have been helping watch Sam for us while we study. Yesterday the Stevens kept him company- this afternoon Stefanie & Amalie did during my lunch hour- and uncle Justin is playing with him in the other room right now.
