So long.. farewell!

yesterday was my last day in the Young Womens organization... I was realeased :(

I have alot of mixed emotions. It will be nice to have my Tuesday nights back to myself, but I'm really gonna miss those girls!!! I've been with them for the past 3 years. I've seen them grow into beautiful young women & I've shared alot with them!! Last night I invited them all over for a cookie night to say goodbye . They all asked me why I was leaving, which made me feel good that they may actually miss me. It's honestly taken up so much of my mind & time... now what?

I go walkin....

My little boy is GROWING up!!! Mom- notice the grocery cart he is pushing around :) He loves it!!! Every day he takes a few more steps. Of course, I can't ever catch on video, his long walking streaks. Yesterday he was walking in the kitchen & then turned around & started walking the other way... I couldn't belive it! He surprises me every day. He is growing up so fast! I have a picture of him on the fridge from May, I think, & I noticed it today & he looks so little!!! We were playing around yesterday & I just realized how before I know it, he'll be all grown up & leaving me. I got all emotional & then realized how crazy I am, cause he's not even a year old... man!

Today...

I'm sorry.. but just look at that face!!!
Today was pretty good, despite the face that Sam had another fever last night & decided to wake up a good 2 or 3 times, I can't remember if it really was 3 cause I was so out of it. There better be a tooth accompanying all this!!!!!! & that stomach flu that was floating around transformed itself into a cold/fluish type thing for Sean & I dont' know if its sympathy pains, but my stomach hasn't been the same for a few days.... wierd. I just have no desire to eat ( & if you know me, you know how insanely bizarre that is) - & no, I'm not pregnant.
Sam really surprised us today by standing up in the middle of the room by himself, over & over again. Sean told me that Sam is really growing up, cause he was purposefully hiding from him & then playing peek-a-boo. I guess that really means your all grown up! Then a little later Sam stood himself up on the desk between the family room & kitchen & then in front of our very eyes just took off walking & got all the way to the stove in the kitchen before he fell!!!!!!! We were just laughing cause we couldn't believe it!!

I swear I love this boy more than I could ever say!!!!

so I finally went grocery shopping & since my stomach has been kind of wierd, all I want is fresh fruit. Wait a second.. maybe my stomach is turning into a healthy stomach! NO!!!! j/k :) Seriously though, Sean & I decided together that we want to eat alot more healthy, so we are working as a team now! Go healthy!

& I really never thought I'd have to buy this stuff until I was much much older.

however, my orthodontist says it is the best way to clean my new retainers, so I got some!

thats right.... those are some beautiful pearly whites you are lookin at!!!! Today my braces adventure finally came to an end! Wahooo!! I have been waiting for this day for almost a year... I was suppose to have them on for 15 months, but today it was 25. Yuck! but they are beautiful!
I did have a little hole in the way for this morning- I had an implant placed in April & my tooth was pulled & then just attached to my braces, so when the braces came off, so did the tooth. They just took the tooth & put it in my reatainer. Problem is, the retainer takes time to make. So they took the impressions this morning & I went & got my teeth cleaned & then Crystal gave me a great new hairdo (highlights back!) & Sam a little trim too. When I checked my voicemail, they had already finished the retainer. I guess the Einstein bagels I took their office this morning was a good motivator :) I'm so glad! I wasn't looking forward to being hillbilly toothless for a few days.
So thats it... a new braces-less era has begun :)

Yuck!

Sean was not a happy camper yesterday!!! I've never seen him in so much pain. He had a few little spurts of feeling "Ok" & then he's try to drink something & it started all over again. last night he layed on the floor in the family room & I slept on the couch & went back & forth to Sam & Sean through the night... yuck!!!

I thought we were out of the woods, cause Sean was finally starting to feel better this afternoon. However, after trying to feed Sam some dinner.... I believe the torch has been passed. One bath later, he is in & out of sleep & whimper right now. Heaven help us tonight!!!

I guess that just leaves me.....

Life..

My sister has been here visiting since the end of last week. We've been busy!!!!!
We've had lots of family get togethers & fun. Unfortunately, Sam was teething during their entire stay. Those lucky Battraws!!!! Not really... Sam is not a great teether. Last Friday & Saturday his temperature was just under 103 & I couldn't tell if he was breaking a tooth or getting sick. Sunday gave us the answer... tooth q. I thought we were out of the woods... but the fussiness continued & finally this morning d & g showed up too. Sam is usually pretty happy & sleeps pretty decently through the night. But when he is teething, he won't eat much food, so he gets hungry in the middle of the night & then dosn't sleep well, so he wakes up alot & is fussy during the day. After his teeth broke through this morning he was Mr. happy... after we dropped the company off at the airport... figures.
I wish the Battraws lived in Arizona :( We miss them alot!!! Sam loves playing with kids. It was a little hard having Sam hang on his 2 year old cousin who wasn't used to having a shadow, but he did pretty nicely dealing with him.

Adam is really learning how to put thoughts together & communicate so it was fun hearing what he had to say. He would always tell us what Adam wanted or how Adam felt. Adam always wanted to go swimming at aunt Michelles. After excersising one day, we took the boys swimming. Sam LOVES the pool. Adam does too. He had a little toy he kept throwing into the pool for us to retrieve for him. He tried retrieving it himself once to find a swallowful of water. He was ok with us getting it for him from then on. Jocelyn was nice enough to take some pictures for us :)

We took the Battraws to the airport this morning. Sean did a little work this morning & I went to lunch with my sisters. When I got back Sean hadn't been feeling well & was lying down. I fell asleep with Sam for a little while & woke up to hearing Sean in the bathroom. He has the stomach flu. Yippee!!! The Battraws got out right at the perfect time! I feel so badly... Sean is just laying in pain in the other room. He's trying to stay away from Sam so he wont' get it... but I have a feeling it might be making its rounds around our house :(

I love this little boy alot :) He's the joy of our lives!

Here he is on his way down, from standing up. He's really started standing alot more on his own.

Today he had his first steps!!!!! At first he just took one step & the fell. Eventually he took 3 or 4 steps. He's really set on getting going here... despite how fat his legs are :)

We keep the top of the stairs nice & covered so that Sam can't get down... but when he goes downstairs, he tries every way he can to get back up. Today he climbed all the way up by himself.

however, in the process, the velcro from his diaper caught on the carpet &.. you know the rest!

the other good news of the day.... my braces are coming off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have an appointment 2 weeks from today!!! No more braceface!!!!!!!

ps

yesterday I saw Sam stand up by himself in the middle of the floor. Sean says he's seen him do it before, but has never told me. Anyways! I think that walking isn't too far away... regardless of how fat his legs are!
