Living it Up

We had an AWESOME weekend :)
Friday we had Sean's family over & made carne asada tacos w/ veggies from the garden :) yummy!
On Saturdy- Sunday, my office had a staff party at the Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix. My bosses got rooms for all the staff & their families, gave us passes to the waterpark for the day & then took us to Rustlers Roost for dinner. It was great!!!!
This is a picture of the water park. It has a lazy river that goes around the park, several kid pools, a few regular pools, a wave pool, & 3 large slides. Fun :)

We were lucky to get a room early in the day so we could go back & get Sam his naps & feed him easily. He LOVED the water. He loved splashing in the pools & we took him on the lazy river on a dual raft in between us. he just soaked up the rays :)

In between water park & dinner, Sean's mom was at the resort doing a massage & stopped by to treat us :) Wahoo!!!!!! I got a freaking amazing massage. So if your ever in need of a massage, I know the BEST therapist!

The restaurant had a longhorn outside & Sam loves animals, so he was very intrigued.

There is an option to take a slide into the dining area instead of the stairs. Sean took it down ( I didn't see it) & then he took Sam for ride too. The picture was in motion & a little blurry.

We sat right next to the other girl in the office that had a baby at the same time as me so we were double high chair duty. Here is Maddy & Sam chilling.

We have such an awesome staff :) & it was fun to meet up with their families & socialize. It was also nice that we were right next to the slide, cause all the kids in the party loved going up& down.

The weather was pretty amazing that night too. We walked outside for awhile. The restaurant overlooks the city & the view was nice too :)

The room we had was a little suite with a sitting area room & then another room with a king bed & a little patio. It was very nice. We even got a little allowance on the room so we ordered room service this morning. Amazing berry carmalized pancakes :) Such a great weekend. It was fun too cause it was like a little vacation, but we didnt' have to drive to get there. I'm so lucky to have such generous people to work for! & they know how to show us a good time too!





On Friday night Red was in & running by Sam & he though it was hilarious. Sean took a little video. You can't see very well, but you can hear him.

Losing it!

Today its official!! I weigh exactly what I did at my first prenatal visit. Hooray!!!! I'm on my way to my old body!!!

Time to Say Goodbye

So sad to see her go, but its time! When more than one cycle is required to dry anything... it's time. She's dried her fair share of Lindblom loads, and she's seen many a Easter basket hidden by the Easter bunny right inside her barrel. As far as I can remember, this has been the dryer occupying my parents home.

Newbies...

ok, not really newbies. Off craigs list newbies. yay!

This morning I woke up to Sam standing up in his crib. Definitely time to move the crib to its' lower setting!! I'm glad he didn't jump right out!! He usually just lays there when he wakes up, but he's starting sitting up, & now apparently standing as well.

Tuesday Sam crawled for the first time. I mean, he's been mobile for awhile, but he hadn't taken one leg after another crawl, until Tuesday. Of course, it was to try to get to the remote. He has serious fascinations with electronic anything. Sounds like his daddy!

Mountain Men

I think this is the longest I've gone without updating my blog!! We've been busy around here lately. I guess thats life though.

Last week a new member joined our family-

Hyrum Philip Battraw , on May 23. My sister Kelli makes pretty cute kids, huh? & I can't believe how much hair that baby has!!!!

I worked an extra day last week & then we went on an extended camping trip this last weekend & just got home this evening! It was Sam's first real camping trip & he LOVED it!!!!

Here are me, Sam & Red all on our way up north. Sam LOVES our dog Red. Any time he would get remotely near him he would start jumping up & down very excited.
We found a beautiful area near Clints Well, about 35 miles north of Payson. We've never looked for anywhere near there... but it was so great!! The weather was amazing & we got a little rain almost every day.

our first night we made cabobs with chicken & lots of veggies from our garden!! There were super delicious!

About a year ago I bought these pjs thinking there was no way he'd ever fit into them... cause they are 12 months. I can't believe he's grown up so much!!! He loved to play up on the bed in the trailer.

My friend Hilary gave us this super cutie camo outfit. Unfortunately, he didnt' get to wear it for too long. His smile is so big cause he is filling his cute little diaper. He even got some of it on the only sweatshirt I brought, leaving me huddled next to the fire every other night! Adorable, huh?

One of Sean's unspoken goals when we camp is to keep a fire going, & get it as big as possible. He is always "tending" to the fire.

We had such a good time! Relaxing, watching the rain, exploring around & enjoying nature.
I bought a baby hiker backpack thingy at a yard sale awhile ago & got to try it out. Sam LOVED it! Only problem...he loves to grab my hair.

This was the trees right before an amazing meadow with wild iris' growing that we hiked to... beautiful!

Sam enjoying his camping experience. it's not the easiest, now that he is mobile, to keep him on a jean blanket. He loved picking grass & trying to eat it. If I turned my back for a second he was at the corner of the blanket with a handful of dirt, grass & pine needles.

The last full day we were there Sean's family came up for the day to joing us. It was fun :) We all hiked around & enjoyed each others company & cooked yummy food!!

that night we made carne asada tacos, guacomole, pico de gallo, & we also roasted corn from the garden! It was a yummy food fest!!

We had a wonderful time!! & it was so nice to get away from all the noise of every day life. I just wish the weather was that amazing here during the summer :(

Sam has started pulling himself up & walking around furniture & pretty much anything he can get his hands on. I just cant' believe how fast my little baby is growing up!!!!

Tragical

This last weekend we were away in California. Sean's mom came & watered the garden for us one day & we unfortunately have a black dog. Well, I guess its not unortunate that he's black, but maybe that he is outside in Arizona in the summer. After the plots were watered he weaseled his way back & tried to cool off by rolling repeadedtly in the corn.... & pretty much flattened a good portion of it.

to say that my jaw dropped when I saw it is probably an understatement. We can't really punish the poor guy. First of all it happened awhile ago & dogs need punished right when they do what they are being punished for or they don't know why they are in trouble... second- he gets so hot... I can't really blame him!! But I was pretty heartbroken about the corn. We picked up the husks that were still laying around & boiled them up. They were alot better than I had expected!! It makes me excited to eat the rest!

So if you've been following my garden sagas you know that our middle plot is a "mystery" garden & that we didnt' know what was there. Even after we got fruit off some of the plants I was still at a loss. Take this for example-

After it grew to a ridiculous size, we cut it open to find it was -I'm pretty sure- spaghetti squash & definitely way too seedy when it gets that size.

There are 3 watermelon that I can see

and we never noticed that there was cucumber in our mystery garden until I moved some leaves aside & found this monster.
anyone who likes cantelope needs to make their way over here cause there are about 20 growing right now.

So after we got back this weekend, this is what we pulled out of the garden!
