Ready to Rumble

I'm referring to me in that title. Each July our young women & men meet together to plan the activities for the rest of the year out. I suggested as a combined activity that we should do a pinewood derby.. how fun!! BIG MISTAKE! Cause we allowed all leaders to compete as well. Now in case you didn't know, Sean & I are both in the mutual organization. Sean & Pinewood derby. Two words that equal obsession. I had no idea he would be spending this much time on this ridiculous car. I can't disclose how much money he has spent on attempts to make his car the most amazing for fear of eternal embarrassment. Lets just say that the words- if you spend any more money on this I might rip your eyes out- have come out of my mouth.
Tomorrow is the blessed day, after which I will not have to see sandpaper on my floor & counters again until 8 years have passed & our boy is old enough to compete, at which time I will move away from home for a few weeks.
Today I came with Sean to his dads to use his air compressor to paint his little treasure. I guess I can see where he gets the obsession from. The pair of them are a sight to see. The way they were talking about making sure the paint didn't fish eye, you'd think they were painting an actual car that was going to be auctioned off for a nice sum of money. If only pinewood derby cars could make us some money!!! They were mixing paints in the kitchen while I was sitting here checking my blog & I heard Sean say- isn't that going to melt the cup? His dad assured him the paint would not. Lo & behold... glittery blue paint all over the side of the white kitchen island & the pretty floor tile. I tried to not to laugh... or gag as I rushed past them so I could breathe in fresh air again as they scrambled for paper towels & chemicals to clean up the spill. If only I had a camera to capture such a moment.
I'll definitely have a camera tomorrow night when the blessed event occurs. I'm racing too.. but spent about a hundredth of the time on my car as Sean did on his. I'll let you know the results. Although I have a feeling it may end up with Sean crying.

Hiccups

I went to take a nap after church today & layed down on my bed. I kept feeling this constant, rhythmic pulse in me & realized that the baby had the hiccups!! I've heard people say that happens when they are pregnant. I even thought once or twice that I was feeling that, but today it was pretty unmistakable. He had the hiccups for almost 10 minutes!! I told Sean he should try & scare me, but it dosn't quite work that way!
I heard from my mom & dad tonight. They are in Provo & will report to the MTC tomorrow. I know my mom is nervous, but they will be amazing & the next 18 months will be unbelievable for them! Yay!
We also went to dinner tonight at our friends house. Steak & potatoes & I don't have to fix anything at all!! I tried to get Sean to play phase 10, but he has a serious game problem... he just won't play most of them... brat!! Thanx for the great meal Duffy's :)

Have you been there yet? I've been a little off & on, but I think after going with JoDee today that I'm hooked! I know the food there is alot better for you & nice & fresh... hence the name. Tonight Sean & I had a dinner kinda like this... minues the spirits!
They have a grill pack on sale for $4.99 that includes 8 pieces of seasoned chicken, 4 hamburger patties & 4 italian pork sausages. Seriously, could you ask for something better? BBQ pronto! Sean was so excited about it that we grilled it right after I got them & he told me to go back & get more! On sale til Tuesday!! Definitely worth it! Could I sound any more like a commercial?

Cutest Ever!

I'm sorry, but seriously! These are the cutest kids EVER! When Kelli & Tammie were here visiting all my sisters took their kids to get pictures together. All of the Lindblom grandkids in one nice picture :) My sisters said the older granddaughters said me & Tammie should go & stick our bellies in the picture. haha!! pretty soon I'll have a little boy in those pictures too!!

I hope they call me on a mission...

I just wish it could have been 2 months later... but what can ya do? Last night my parents were set apart as full time missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. All the kids (that live here) & close friends all got together to see them get set apart. Now they are Elder & Sister Lindblom! We all met at their house afterwards, ate some ice cream & had a family prayer one last time before saying goodbye!!

My parents stood there after we had our family prayer & hugged each kid goodbye as we left. Of course I had to be last for some reason, which just made me cry more. I'm so crazy!!!! I'm so happy & excited for them, but I'm going to miss them SO much! My mom told me she's just a phone call away, & I know that... but it's still hard for me. Michelle, Wendi & Jo all went to help them pack & leave this morning & Michelle had to put a picture on her blog of them driving down the street, which just set me off again. Poor Sean, to have to deal with such a bawl baby.

Yesterday I had the day off so I hung out with mom & played Yahtzee. I know she's excited to go. She was whistling Called to Serve as we were playing. It made me smile.

Just can't face the facts!!!

Yes, it's me & my mom! Aren't we two freaking hot ladies?!!!

Yesterday I was at work & it hit me.... mom will be gone in a week. Ok, I guess dad too. :) I called her up & asked her how she was spending her last Saturday here in good ol Mesa. Guess what? She spent this morning with me! Ok, & her other kids too. Me, JoDee, & my mom went yard saling together this morning... how else could we spend our last weekend with our mom? We scored!!! JoDee got the couch she was looking for for the kids play room & we all found some books we've been wanting. I also got....

a few things for the baby. The portable playpen was a quarter!!! The couple would use it when they went camping. I figured for a quarter, we could too :)

I also scored Sean a Ryobi skill saw & cordless drill with 2 batteries & a charger for $20! Woo hoo!! then JoDee & Michelle's ward had a primary talent show, so we all headed over there. The kids all did great! Michelle's girls sang & played the piano & who could resist Jolie singing Tomorrow from Annie .... when she can't say the word compeletly just yet... she sang tomoryo! Cutest in the world :) All of the kids of course did a dance to the Snowman song.

Then JoDee, Andy, Nancie & mom & I all went to Red Robin for some good grub. Mom loves the cherry shakes :)

Then we just hung out at JoDee's house talking & sitting to digest our food. Phily came over after awhile too.
When I called mom yesterday & talked to her on the phone I lost it! I hung up with her & cried for a few minutes on the way home. Then when I got home & Sean asked me what was wrong, I cried more. I don't think he remotely understands how scary it is for me to think of having my first baby without my mom with me. I know people do it all the time... but I don't want to!! I couldn't part with my mom for any other reason than going on a mission & serving the Lord. She will be an amazing missionary!!!
I hate change alot, & not having mom around for a year & a half is big change that I'm not sure I can handle. I'm so lucky to have such amazing sisters all around me... otherwise I would really freak out!! Not that I already don't freak out about everything else in the world!!

Bi monthly now

Yesterday I went to my prenatal doctors visit. It was my special glucose test visit where I got a nice sugary orange drink. It seriously tasted like sugary soda. Long story short.. the office took too long to get me the drink & I had to get back to work, so when the receptionist gave it to me & told me I had 5 minutes to drink it, I think I was already done with it before she finished her sentence. Results are to come... However, when I went to make my next appointment, it was 2 weeks out instead of 4. Why? I asked. Apparently I've finally entered that blessed 3rd trimester at which point I must see my doctor every 2 weeks. I'm starting to feel how close this whole baby thing is to happening & I know I say that alot, but it's coming! I went today to register at the hospital & envisioned myself being there having this baby... scary!

We've been lucky enough to have Kelli &
Adam visiting the past 2 weeks. Tonight my parents & kelli & Adam came over for dinner. Sean had some fun playing around with Adam. Adam was interested in our headphones for when we go shooting... Kelli kept calling to him, but he couldn't hear her. It was kinda cute.
