Sam's Birthday

Now that it's almost been a month, I figured I should blog Sammy's birthday.
October 15th our Sammy turned 2 years old. I swear, the time passes by so fast! I can hardly believe that he is already 2 years old!!!!
We were not really planning on having a party for him that day, we were gonna wait til the next weekend, but that morning, we just decided we would do what we could to let him have a fun day & call it done.
So for lunch Sean, Joe & I all took Sammy to Peter Piper Pizza for some pizza & games. It was Sean's idea & a pretty good one, I must admit. Sam LOVED it! He kinda didn't care about the pizza so much ( I will forgive him though). The games & rides were just awesome to him.

Even the games he probably wasn't quite big enough for.. we humoured him.

He is definitely a daddy's boy! & cars are his favorite!!

It was pretty much torture to pull him away from the play area to eat, but eventually he did... with only 1 (very long) meltdown. We were very patient, reminding ourselves it was his birthday.

Joe pretty much sept through the whole experience.

We did return to the play area after the pizza because I think Sam may have had a heart attack if we didn't.

He even played ski ball & air hockey with us & laughed right through it. He is such a happy kid (most of the time). & I was really glad Sean thought of taking him there. It was fun for it to be just us, our little family, all together & celebrating Sam's birthday.
We got just enough tickets to get a piece of candy & a few green army men. Sean also won Sam a blue ball in the claw grabbing machine. So Sam was nice & entertained with army men & the ball through the car ride home.

We decided that evening to have a bbq at a park & whoever was available to come, we welcomed!! We hadn't really planned it before that day, so most people were already busy, but our main goal of the day was to let Sam run & around, play, & have fun. I think we met the goal. Both his sets of grandparents were able to make it & half the Dillard clan, his aunt Nancie, Uncle Justin, & Aunt Tiffany & cousin David.
We got off to a rocky start- were a little late & not as prepared as I thought we were...but we still had alot of fun!

One of his birthday presents was a nerf football. It was opened immediately so that he could enjoy it at the park. Uncle Andy, cousins Rock & Max helped him break it in..

Dad & Papa Lindblom- Sean likes to get his bbq going with his blower.. which I always laugh at & he swears by.

Sam loves to do EVERYTHING his Dad is doing!!!

We had hamburgers & hotdogs for dinner & as before, its like torture to get Sam to stop playing & actually eat food, but it happened!

As the sun went down, alot of the Johnson side joined us & we sang to Sammy over some cupcakes.



it started getting crazy windy & we thought we may get rained out!! We put up alot of the food, but then it blew over. The Lindblom family had to leave for other things, & the Johnson side stuck around. Sean put a timer on the camera to take this one ( I was feeding hungry Joe in the car).
I'll never forget that night as the storm was blowing over, there was an amazingly beautiful breeze out. Sean & I went to swing on the swings for fun, & Sam was dying to join us. So he sat on Sean's lap & we were all swinging really high & laughing together with an awesome breeze on us. I felt for just a moment that this must be what heaven felt like. To be surrounded by the ones you truly love, & feel complete happiness and joy.
Sam brings so much joy to our lives. I cannot imagine one second of my life without him. From the moment he was born, he changed something inside of me. He brought a palpable joy to our family that we will always feel & be in need of!
Now, even this short amount of time into his 2nd year, he is growing so much- each day he makes me smile :)
