this is it!

here we go... it's moving day!
my nephews & Sean's brothers are helping us begin moving today & hopefully we will get the rest taken care of tomorrow with more help. I couldn't sleep this morning. I kept waking up every hour or so all night. I can't determine if its cause my stomach is so huge & I've been having some really uncomfortable days lately, or if I can't wait to start moving.
This is the last time I'll be blogging from my moms. All services are being switched over to the new house today. Wahoo!
It's funny, but I feel like today is really the beginning of so much change in my life, & it's been giving me so much anxiety. I feel like if I can face this today.. everything else will fall into place. We move-a new ward- new route to get to work- further from family-paren't are coming home from the mish in the next month- then I'll have the baby.. & we'll never be the same again!
here we go :)

Seriously?

You'd think that the house we are moving into has one of these growing in the backyard....
or maybe thats just my wish!

what? you want your service moved to a new address? We require your first born as a deposit... hope that isn't a problem!!

Why is moving so expensive? Boxes.. tape.. we need a new... we never had this & now need... deposits for every thing in the freaking world!!!

I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed today. I know Sean has a green thumb, but I don't think we'll find a tree like this ever.... too bad :(

week in review...

Sam is really into wearing our shoes around the house. On Sunday after church he kept his shoes on & put my shoes on too & was walking around in them.. pretty much the cutest thing ever :)

I've pretty much spent the rest of the week cleaning & packing...

I'm sick of putting boxes together!! but I'll tell you, that moving definitely makes you get rid of alot of crap! My office was closed this week, so I got to spend my whole week with Sammy boy :)

Tuesday I had a Dr. appointment & she measured me at 31 weeks. About right on. From now on my appointments are every 2 weeks. I'm telling you, this baby could not come any sooner!!! It's getting really uncomfortable to sleep, or sit too long, or stand too long.. wait, my whole life is uncomfortable!! I guess I should probably wait til we get into our new house & settled before I wish this baby here. I actuall hope I carry this one to term, but I have a feeling he'll come about 2 weeks early... thats my prediction. I keep telling Sam he is going to have to be a nice older brother & that he is a big boy now & there will be a new baby, but I'm not sure thats really sinking in. Sam did say a new word for the first time 2 days ago... trash. I was sweeping & telling him not to get into the dirt piles cause it is trash & he said it right back to me. Trash! Kinda weird to hear him say new words, to tell you the truth, maybe deep down, I wish he really would stay my little baby.

Yesterday me & the sisters drove on over to Glendale to watch my lil bro graduate from pharmacy school & become Dr. Phil :) Seriously got teary eyed several times throughout, but what else is new? I almsot cried at a diaper commercial at the dr. office!!
I still can't believe that my little brother is old enough to do this though..

We all celebrated the graduation/Nancie's birthday (late) by going to Oregano's afterwards... LOVE IT! My sister in law was nice enough to watch Sam so I could actually sit through the graduation & I'm so glad she did!! I think Phil's class had at least 150 people in it.. & when each of them have to be hooded & then shake several people's hands while crossing the stage, it can take awhile! I don't think Sam would have been too keen on sitting through that! I can't say how proud I am of Phily though!!

I feel so badly that the week I have to spend every waking second with Sam is filled with... no Sam! Don't take that out of the box! while I'm packing.. but I knew if I didn't start this week, it wouldn't get done. Sean & I have a really busy week next week which will culminate in an attempted move on Friday & Saturday. We get the keys to the house Friday morning, but I think Sean has to work Friday. Hopefully we'll have enough help next weekend! I had a few contractions today from moving the boxes around I was packing & I know I need to take it easy. So! If you're in the area... PLEASE! we need help a week from today moving!

New Beginnings

this week is a new week!!!!
last week I ended up working 4 days.. which is really good, cause my office is taking this week off, so now I made up for the days I missed. BUT!! working 4 days in a row, when your used to 2, is exhausting!!!
However, if yesterday is any implication as to how this week will be, I'm not too excited. Yesterday morning I thought, I will be early to church today.. I WILL be early to church today. I was ready early, Sammy was bathed, everything almost in place. & then a few minutes before church started, I heard a crash followed by Sammy crying. I ran in to find the bird cage on top of Sam. Sam & Petey were both a little traumatized, but that didn't stop Sammy's parents from getting VERY angry, because he is daily told (several times) to not touch, shake, or climb on Petey's cage. Sean's first words to a crying child... do you see what happens when you don't listen? Classic parental advice. Sam spent some time on his bed (complete torture) & Sean & I spent the next 20-30 minutes cleaning up the mess.
Fast forward an hour & a half. I just finished leading the music in Jr. Primary & have been bouncing between the window in the nursery to make sure Sam isn't freaking out & the primary room. I finally sit down to listen to sharing time when one of the kids nearby gets sick.. all over himself, & then kid next to him. I jumped up & ran to get some paper towels to help clean up. As I run back into the room & get even remotely close to this mess, I feel like I'm gonna be sick if I get any closer. I slowly back away & then spend the next 1/2 hour walking around outside & the other side of the building, trying not to dry heave as I think of the smell.
End bad things for the day. After church I played hostess ( which I love to do) & Sean's family, including his awesome aunt & cousin, joined us for a little birthday celebration for his sister. We had carne asada tacos, homemade guacamole & pico, fried squash & fried green tomatoes, & I tried out a new sopapilla recipe that we stuffed with honey & ice cream.. delish :)
Now I just have to concentrate on packing & figuring out why Sam is so whiney today.. both of which I'm not really looking forward to-

No Fear

Today Sam & I joined the Dillards at Kino pool for a nice swim. They tore out the Kino pool I grew up going to & replaced it with a pretty freaking awesome set up!
if you continue on to the left in the kiddie area , there is a pole that has spouts & buckets that fill with water every 30 seconds or so & then dump out. Good times :)
This was actually the first time this season I've taken Sam swimming in a pool. The kid pool starts at nothing & slowly gets deeper & deeper, so he can just walk right in. He refused to let me hold his hand (typical) & wanted to walk on his own, so I just shadowed his every move. The first time he tripped & fell under I thought- maybe that scared some sense into him & now he'll let me hold his hand. Not the case. This kid has no fear of the water- for now anyways.
He would keep walking until it got so deep that his head would start to be covered & I had to direct him in a more shallow way- if I didn't, I think he would have just kept going.
Then he noticed kids jumping off the side into the pool & thought he really needed to do this. So at the 2 feet mark, he would pull himself out of the pool & then turn around & jump to me. He is so nuts!!! I let him do it a few times, until instead of turning to me & jumping, he started running as fast as he could towards the deep end. I started screaming at him & running & got to him in just enough time to grab him before he jumped in. He was not happy at me for not letting him out of the pool again. Too bad! Shortly after this, he became so crabby that I knew it was nap time & we needed to leave. He would probably opt to stay there forever if he could.
I seriously wonder when Sam will start being afraid to do things. Will he ever? He jumps off chairs, he run up high jungle gyms- you name it, he is really not afraid of doing it.
Lord, please tell me our next boy is just somewhat reserved.. I'm not sure I can live through a Sammy 2!

New & Improved

Today Sean surprised me with new phones for us both. His phone pretty much gave up a couple of weeks ago, so he used an old phone my brother lent us for about a week & then it gave up too. So he has been stealing my phone, leaving me phoneless. It dosn't sound that bad until your home all day with no way to communiate with other people except im'ing on facebook. So today he brought home this beauty, for both of us...
we like to call it the Sammy-proof phone. Shock resistant, water resistant.. Sammy resistant :) It has military specs - only problem.. we both have the same phone now. It really sucks when they are both laying there & you want to be able to tell which one is yours. Oh well- the price we pay.

Today we also signed the lease for our house. Buying is not in the stars for us right now- & it took a whole lot of searching to find a house that was just what we were looking for.

The front yard was fertilized & already has grass pretty much everywhere, so hopefully by the time we move in at the end of the month, it will be all in. It is just west of Higley, off of Brown. Most importantly, it has an rv gate & a garage- 2 very much needed things for us. It is not a brand new home, but not too old, so it has space inside- alot of the newer homes we looked at were so cramped! I thought I wanted newer, but this is really perfect for us. So we are moving in the last weekend of this month, for those of you who would like to help a poor old prego woman who can't really lift anything :)

oh yes!

Wahoo!! We just found out that we were approved to rent the house that we were wanting :) Now we just have to meet & sign a lease & by the end of this month we will be back in our own place!! We are sooo excited! YAY!

QUIET!

Are women really the only ones who understand how incredibly vital a quiet bag is for church? Today we had to drive seperatley to church cause I had to lead music for primary & Sean' s cousin had his homecoming talk today so I had to meet Sean & Sam there. I got Sam completely ready, & his bag as well. I left it on the table for Sean & also told him it was there. When I got to the homecoming & asked where his bag was... well, it was still on the kitchen table. Do you know how difficult it is to keep a 19 month old child occupied for 1 + hour while sitting still? Yeah, I'm sure alot of you do. Needless to say I was walking the halls with him.

please note that I have blown this section of the picture up. This was my birthday celebration & the whole fam was over & all the kids were playing & having fun. Amidst the chaos, babydoll gets to ride in Sammy's dump truck.. how lucky :)
That isn't the only time that Sam has brought along this doll for an adventure. Every once in awhile I see him carrying it around. I always tell him to give it a hug & a kiss & he usually does. How sweet :)
Today he kept trying to push the keys on the laptop while I was trying to use it.. an extremely common occurance anytime either Sean or I uses the laptop. It is followed by threats to Sam if he does not stop touching it. Today he actually did stop. Seconds later I see the baby doll's hand creep up to the keyboard. Sam was trying to make the doll push the buttons instead. I couldn't help but laugh. Then my mind went immediately to this new baby soon to join us & how many times Sam will "help" this baby touch, push, or take something he probably shouldn't be into. We are definitely in for it!!!!
